In
AHAM, we are often asked the question, “How does one remain
connected with the Source and stay strong and steady in the Heart, or
the Self, while living a busy lifestyle? And, what about during my relationships,
while fulfilling my daily responsibilities and personal obligations?
”
In answer Ramana explains:
“Remember often to draw your attention back into
Awareness Itself, and just imbibe of this quality of pure Awareness.
As often as possible, watch your activities as though you are watching
someone else doing them. It is like looking over your own shoulder. Watch
the thoughts in your mind, as you stay quietly, silently, abiding in the prior Awareness, the feeling
I AM — not ‘I am this’ or ‘I am that’
but simply the pure feeling of I AM. Merge your thoughts in IT, and
the mind and feelings will become one. This is Living Free!”
AHAM’s Conscious
Curriculum gives you a way to Live Free no matter what is happening
in your life. It has a simple, easy, unique approach that brings together,
in a balanced way, your spiritual and worldly affairs. Many people come
here who are dealing with the conflict of how to “live and
be in the world, but not be of it.” In AHAM and its teaching,
your ability to do this begins with awakening to the Feeling of Completion,
which you learn to awaken with AHAM’s “Completion Process”™. The “truth that makes us free” that Jesus mentions,
is the Truth that we are already complete, whole and free — just
as we are — when we awaken to our true Self.
In order for this not to
be just an intellectual understanding about the Truth, we offer
experiential processes that actually Awaken you to this Truth. And,
at the same time, those areas that have been incomplete in your life,
that are now pulling on you, are completed consciously. You are then
able to appreciate and are deeply motivated to live life from this state
of Completion and Fulfillment — at all times. The conscious process
of Self-Inquiry is learned as a way to continue to steadily and strongly
remain in the Truth, the Reality of the true Self, no matter what is
happening in your life — good, or not so good.
AHAM’s approach to
“Living Free” is shared in these words of truth
from A. Ramana:
“Emptiness, or freedom from thought, is Happiness. Happiness is freedom from desire.
Desire is suffering, yet it appears to temporarily bring a sense of freedom; that is, when your desire
is fulfilled there is momentary sense of freedom from desire and the emptiness brings the feeling of happiness. However, this is usually not seen as being the way it is. Or, it's more often unconscious or unrecognized. Instead, we ignorantly attribute happiness
to be from attaining the object, situation, or event that fulfills our desire, and not
to this emptiness, or freedom from desire. It is the freedom from desire that gives happiness, not attaining the desired objects.
“AHAM is about living in freedom, which is freedom from desire and fear. It is about being present in and as Pure Awareness, the True Self, the nature of which is happiness. When body-mind identification ends all compulsive thought ends, leaving emptiness, which is filled with the fullness of Pure Awareness. This is true Peace, Freedom, and Joy – or Real Happiness.”
